TSC introduces updated TA210 Series desktop label printer

TSC Auto ID Technology Co., Ltd. (TSC), a leading innovator in the design and manufacture of thermal bar code printer, announced the introduction of the TA210 Series, an economical desktop thermal transfer printer that features rugged dual gear-driven motors and large 300 meter ribbon capacity. The new, faster TA210 Series is based on the popular TSC TA200 Series of desktop thermal transfer printers. The TA210 Series runs at speeds up to 5 inches per second and is 100% compatible with the older TA200 Series which it replaces.

A choice of two models
The TA210 Series offers two resolution options: the standard TA210 is a 203-dpi version featuring print speeds up to 5 inches per second and a higher resolution 300-dpi version. The TA310 300-dpi model is ideal for producing two-dimensional barcodes, fine text and small-graphics labels.

TSC's unique dual gear-driven motors that are capable of handling large capacity 300 meter ribbons and large rolls of media inside its sleek design are designed for many years of use. If the 5” interior label capacity is not enough, simply add an external media unwinder and the TA210 can easily handle 8.4” OD rolls of labels designed for expensive industrial label printers. TA210 Series design is quieter and lasts longer than its cheaper single motor competitors. The result is happier customers who enjoy the lowest cost of ownership of any thermal transfer label printer available.

Modular design for customized applications
The print mechanism and ribbon handler of the TA210 Series is a modular design. The module may easily be removed from the printer for use in kiosk or print and apply applications.

The TA210 Series offers a low initial price, uses the most cost effective supplies available, and is built to last. These virtually trouble free units feature a standard two-year warranty. Once you plug it in, you won’t have to worry about it.

The TA210 Series can print a wide variety of labels ranging from shipping labels to compliance and general purpose product identification labels and tags. Other applications include automobile service shops, walk-in shipping and mail centers, and inventory control for stock rooms.

Newest model in TTP-244 printer family offers 25 percent increase in speed at no extra cost

TSC Auto ID Technology Co., Ltd. (TSC), a leading innovator in the design and manufacture of thermal bar code printer, introduced the TTP-244 Pro, a four-inch-wide desktop thermal transfer label printer that is 25 percent faster than its predecessor, the popular TTP-244 Plus, yet is available at the same price point, making it significantly more affordable than comparable printers offering far fewer features.

The new TTP-244 Pro operates at speeds up to 5 inches per second and features an upgraded stepping motor that is an improvement over the already popular two-motor design of the TTP-244 Plus, whose price-performance combination has made it one of the top-selling print engines in its class.

The TTP-244 Pro, like all printers in the TTP-244 family, accommodates a one-inch-core 300-meter ribbon, making it less expensive to operate per square meter than similar, but less capable, small-footprint printers that are designed only to handle shorter thermal-transfer ribbons, a more costly alternative. (Nearly two decades ago, TSC pioneered the design of desktop label printers that accommodate economically efficient 300-meter ribbons.)

Versatility, durability, economy

The TTP-244 Pro is designed to print a wide assortment of labels, including shipping labels and compliance and general-purpose product-identification labels and tags, making it the perfect solution for automobile service shops, walk-in shipping and mail centers, stock-room inventory control and numerous other applications.

Built to last, the TTP-244 Pro features two gear-driven motors that can easily handle large-capacity 300-meter ribbons and large media rolls. Depending on the volume, operators can use either 4.3-inch OD labels rolls fitted onto a one-inch-core internal spindle or use an optional external roll mount that can accommodate large 8-inch OD rolls fitted onto a three-inch-core external spindle (a size typically designed for use with more expensive industrial label printers).

The TTP-244 Pro’s rugged dual gear-driven motors are designed to withstand many years of wear and tear, making it one of the most dependable and durable desktop printers on the market.
Like all TSC desktop thermal-transfer label printers, the TTP-244 Pro is backed by an industry-best two-year limited warranty.

Rugged TSC Alpha-3R helps with parking ticket enforcement

Market: Transportation
Application: Parking ticket printing in Taiwan
Model: Alpha-3R

Background:
To expedite parking ticket processing, Taiwan municipalities increasingly rely on handheld citation writers and automated parking management systems to more efficiently issue traffic tickets. The mobile technology decreases human error and handwriting errors, while streamlining city parking operations and generating increased ticket revenue.

Solution:
Issuing operators ride eco-friendly electric motorcycles to patrol in designated parking areas. Using a hand-held PDA and TSC’s Alpha-3R mobile printer, parking enforcement can complete and print a parking citation in 5 seconds or less. All relevant vehicle information – license plate number, model, car brand, and parking location – is first scanned and populated into the appropriate application fields using the PDA. Two barcodes, the first recording the name of the private agency responsible for the parking citation and the second storing a record of onsite parking photos, are also included in the citation. The data is then transferred quickly and securely from the PDA to the Alpha-3R via Bluetooth, and the ticket is immediately printed. A printed citation is then left on the driver’s windshield.

Information from the traffic tickets is uploaded at the end of each shift for immediate entry to a parking management database. The database stores all traffic citation records for three years in the event a parking violator decides to challenge his ticket.

Electronic ticketing devices and mobile printing systems like TSC’s Alpha-3R deliver accuracy and convenience wherever ticketing operators take them.

Benefits:
• Improved efficiency and accuracy
• Fast print speed increased ticket revenue
• Bluetooth data connection for printing parking tickets and automated record tracking
• High-capacity 2500 mAh Lithium batteries for extended all-day performancen
• Compatibility with different ticket widths, allowing operators to easily switch ticket formats
• IP54-rated dust and water-resistant case designed to protect the printer and keep it operating in harsh weather conditions

Alpha-3R Features:
Alpha-3R is a comfortable, light-weight printer capable of handling any mobile printing application requiring the fast production of simple receipts or selected labels on demand. The Alpha-3R’s sturdy IP54-rated protective case is designed to resist dust and water and features a rubber over-mold design that can withstand up to a five foot fall and keep printing.

The Alpha-3R offers USB, or optional 802.11 b/g/n Wireless, Serial and Bluetooth® connectivity, enabling it to connect to a mobile computer or a smart phone and produce clear easy-to-read receipts or selected labels hour after hour. It also offers an industry-best two-year limited warranty
